About Ayurveda
AYURVEDA is a science of life. Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. Ayurveda is attributed to Dhanvantari, the physician to the gods in Hindu mythology, who received it from Brahma. Its earliest concepts were set out in the portion of the Vedas known as the Atharvaveda.
Ayurveda is a system which gives importance to prevention subscribing to the theory “Prevention is better than Cure.” The main focus of Ayurveda is on healing illness, prevention of disease, longevity or age reversal. Illness or disease is caused by poor digestion and weak immune systems.
The main aim of the college is to provide a well education to become Ayurvedic Doctors. It is an all-round development of student to become mature, self-sufficient, intellectually, culturally refined, socially efficient and spiritually advanced. Professional education played a very important role worldwide in the last decades of the twenty-first century.
About Our Institution
Keeping in mind, the importance and usefulness of Ayurveda, Sushrutha Arogya Prathistana®, Davangere established Sushrutha Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences & Research Center at Davangere, Karnataka to promote our Indian System of Medical facilities to needy person. “Service to the suffering humanity is service to the God” in this context the hospital and college is functioning successfully at its own building as per the norms of Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi. A well-set herbal garden with more than 300 medicinal plants is also maintained within the campus.
The Ayurveda College and Hospital, one of the finest Ayurveda hospitals in Karnataka. The hospital comprises of more than 60 beds and eight separate specialty departments. The sufficient number of patients supports the undergraduate students to ripen good skills and confidence.
